November 11 charity bike ride to end at PIR before NEXTEL Cup Series race; Entry deadline is October 5 Bourget's Bike Works Inc. of Phoenix, Arizona says it will partner with the Boys and Girls Club of Metropolitan Phoenix and Phoenix International Raceway, in creating the first annual Run to the Race. Bourget's Bike Works, known for their technologically advanced and highly sought after custom motorcycles, is turning the focus from bikes to raising money for the Boys and Girls Club through hosting the event.
Held on Nov. 11, 2007, the ride will begin at the Bourget's Bike Works factory with factory tours, breakfast, and a chance to meet key members from the community, NASCAR representatives and Roger Bourget. From the factory, a police escort will guide the riders 45 miles and onto the grounds of Phoenix International Raceway in a special VIP section located next to the track. All participants will receive high-profile seating in Phoenix International Raceway's Bobby Allison Grandstands. The deadline to enter is Oct. 5, 2007. "Through the Run to the Race we have created a high quality, high profile event to raise money for the charity, while providing participants with an event to remember," said Roger Bourget, president of Bourget's Bike Works. "With the support of the Phoenix motorcycle community, we hope to raise a substantial donation to encourage and help kids faced with difficult and challenging life circumstances." Tickets for the ride cost $150 each with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the Boys and Girls Club Charity. Space is limited to the first 400 participants by calling (602) 343-1215.
